Step 1.
Working with your instructor, complete the listed Assessment Tasks.
Assessment Tasks:

Refrigerant Fundamentals – Discuss refrigerant types, industry transitions, A2L refrigerants, and key safety considerations.

Recovery Procedures – Demonstrate proper refrigerant recovery practices, recovery machine setup, cylinder handling, and recovery documentation.

Pressure Testing & Leak Detection – Demonstrate proper use of nitrogen regulators, tanks, valves, and leak detection procedures.

Vacuum Procedures – Demonstrate proper vacuum pump setup, evacuation procedures, and explain the purpose of system evacuation.

Charging Procedures – Demonstrate proper refrigerant charging techniques using scales and charging equipment.

Safety & Best Practices – Discuss equipment monitoring, when systems may be left unattended, and important refrigerant handling safety considerations.

Hands-On Practice – Perform recovery, pressure testing, evacuation, and charging procedures under instructor guidance.
