Step 1.

Working with your instructor, complete the listed Assessment Tasks

Assessment Tasks:

  • Safety — Review flame safety, PPE requirements, and firewatch responsibilities.

  • Preparation — Clean + prepare copper tubing + fittings for brazing and soldering.

  • Materials — Identify the purpose and proper use of flux, solder, and brazing rods.

  • Torches — Demonstrate torch operation and identify common flame types.

  • Practice — Complete 4 brazing + soldering exercises using copper tubing + fittings.

  • Development — Discuss best practices for continued safe practice + skill improvement.

Step 2.

After you have completed your Instructor-Led Skills Assessment, complete the form below. In your response summarizing the skill session, be sure to list:

 Instructor's Name:  confirm the name of the Senior/Master Technician who led your session.

 Skills Performed:  summarize the tasks demonstrated and activities completed during the session.

Feedback:  what feedback or areas for continued development were provided to you by your instructor?
